on pay and status.

It's clear that there's concern about low pay and status amongst librarians - in all sectors. It's also clear that there's some anger being directed at the LA on two counts: the LA is perceived as being indifferent and ineffective; and the LA is seen to make the problem worse by accepting advertisements for low-paid jobs.
This was your opportunity to (i) discuss what we are doing, and (ii) give us constructive suggestions of what else we could do.
